The Safe At Home Christian Fellowship - FamTeam.com

The Safe At Home Christian Fellowship is a non-denominational Christian community that has as its gathering place a meeting room that is physically connected to the Arndt family house.  The services are accessible to the general public via the Live Webcasts section of the website.  During these services/live webcasts, listeners are invited to submit prayer requests, "praise reports," etc., by means of a dedicated e-mail address.

The services are held on Sunday mornings (10:30 AM Central Time) and Wednesday evenings (7:30 PM Central Time).

(To access a Safe At Home Christian Fellowship service via live webcast, please click here.)

The meetings are hosted by Rick Arndt, who has been active in some form of Christian ministry since 1973, and who is a licensed minister.  Safe At Home Christian Fellowship exists under the umbrella of Safe At Home Ministries, which is a Christian organization.

(Note: Safe At Home Ministries also offers occasional weekend events that are open to the public at large.  These FamTeam Retreats are designed to serve as opportunities through which individuals, couples, and families might experience a fresh and life-changing touch from God.  (For more information about FamTeam Retreats, please click here.)

Ironically, the fact that we do not have a large congregation has allowed us to throw our hearts open to a wider audience -- the world at large.  Our passion has always been to deliver the Good News of Jesus into the lives of those who desperately need Him instead of merely "preaching to the choir."  As a result, 99 percent of our outreach work takes place outside the walls of our Safe At Home meeting room, in the streets, parks, offices, and homes of the real world, where real people are living real lives.  Our annual Softball Classic, the Safe At Home TV Show (a documentary/reality program), the Live Webcasts, and the website itself are all avenues of ministry that allow us to pour ourselves into the lives of others, rather than waiting for them to appear on the church doorstep!

Of course, ministry, in its truest sense, cannot be contained within the bounds of a service, a public event, a TV show, or a webcast; for our family, the call to bring the love of Jesus to others spills over into every facet of life.  For example, our court reporting/legal video business brings us, on a daily basis, into law firms, courthouses, medical buildings, factories -- in fact, any location where people can be found!  When not handling a work assignment, we can often be found at one or more of the local YMCA facilities, pumping iron, running, or serving as instructors of swimming lessons.  In the evenings, the oldest 10 guys and I don our "Safe At Home" uniforms and take part in Men's Softball League competition, an activity that allows us to mix (on literally a grass-roots level) with hundreds of other athletes/players -- to the tune of 80 games per year.  Of course, we are often on the road, traveling into other areas of the country, either for work assignments or during family trips.  (Mark visited 41 different states last year!)  During these journeys, we often have the opportunity to encounter and connect with people whom God's Spirit has placed randomly into our paths.

To sum it up -- in our own family's situation, the blend of organized ministry programs and everyday, practical involvement in a hurting world allows us to heed the words of the old saying: "As a Christian, be a witness to Jesus Christ 24 hours a day. When necessary, use words."

Below are listed the Mission Statement, Tenets of Faith and Ordinances for the Safe At Home Christian Fellowship.

Mission Statement

We, the congregation of the Safe At Home Christian Fellowship, are a community of believers, rooted in the teachings of our Lord Jesus Christ.  We are united by His love, and strive to be of one heart and one mind with a common purpose to:

        *    Provide opportunities for prayer and witness to the love of God.
        *    Share our faith with the congregation and the community.
        *    Reach out to those in need beyond our congregation and community.

Tenets Of Faith

1.    The Scriptures Inspired

The Bible is the inspired word of God, a revelation from God to men, the infallible rule of faith and conduct, and superior to conscience and reason, but not contrary to reason.  (II Tim. 3:15;  I Peter 1:23-25;  Heb. 4:12.)

2.    The One True God

The one true God has revealed Himself as the eternally self-existent, self-revealed "I AM," and has further revealed Himself as embodying the principles of relationship and association, by simultaneously existing as Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  (Deut. 6:4;  Mark 12:29;  Isa. 43:10,11;  Matt. 28:19.)

3.    Man:  His Fall and redemption

Man was created good and upright, for God said, "Let us make man in our image and after our likeness."  But man, by voluntary transgression, fell, and his only hope of redemption is in Jesus Christ, the Son of God.  (Gen. 1:26-31;  Gen. 3:17;  Rm. 5:12-21.)

4.    The Salvation Of Man

           A.     Conditions Of Salvation

The grace of God, which brings salvation, has appeared to all men, through the preaching of repentance toward God and through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; man is saved by the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, and being justified by grace, has become heir of God according to the hope of eternal life.  (Titus 2:11, 3:5-7, Rm. 10:13-15;  Luke 24:47.)

           B.     Evidences Of Salvation

The inward evidence to the believer of his salvation is the direct witness of the Spirit (Rm. 8:16).  The outward evidence to all men is a life of holiness.  (I Thess. 4:7; II Tim. 1:9.)

5.    Baptism In Water

The ordinance of baptism by burial with Christ should be observed (as commanded in the Scriptures) by all that have repented of their sins and in their hearts have believed on Christ as their Savior and Lord.  In doing so, they declare to the world that they have died with Christ and that they have also been released to walk with Him in newness of life.  (Matt. 28:19;  Acts 19:47, 48;  Rm. 6:4.)

6.    The Lord's Supper  (Communion)

The Lord's Supper, consisting of the elements, bread and fruit of the vine, is the symbol expressing our sharing in a memorial to His suffering and death, and prophecy of His second coming, and is enjoined to all believers "until He comes."  (John 6:48, 51, 53-57;  Luke 22:19, 20;  II Peter 1:4;  I Cor. 11:1-31.)

7.    The Promise Of The Father

All believers should ardently expect and earnestly seek the Promise of the Father, which is the Baptism in the Holy Spirit and fire.  With it comes the infilling of power for life and service, and the bestowment of the gifts and their uses in the work of ministry.  (Luke 24:49; Acts 1:4-8; I Cor. 12:1-31.)

8.    Sanctification Process

By the power of the Holy Spirit we strive to obey the command, "Be ye holy, for I am holy."  Sanctification is  the will of God for all believers, and should be earnestly pursued by walking in obedience to God's Word.  (Heb. 12:14; I Peter 1:15,16;  I Thess. 5:23, 24;  I John 2:6.)

9.    The Church

The church is the holy body of Christ, the habitation of God through the Spirit, with divine appointments for the fulfillment of the great commission.  Each believer is an integral part of the Church, and their names are written in the Lamb's Book of Life.

10.  Ministry

Divinely called and Scripturally-ordained ministry has been provided by our Lord for a two-fold purpose:  (1)  The evangelization of the world, and (2)  The edification of the body of Christ.  (Mark 15:15, 20;  Eph. 4:11-13.)

11.    Divine Healing

Deliverance from sickness is provided for in the atonement of Christ, and is the privilege of all believers.  (Isa. 53:4, 5;  Matt. 8:16, 17;  Mark 16:18;  John 5:14.)

12.    The Blessed Hope

The resurrection of those who have fallen asleep in Christ and their translation, together with those who are alive and remain unto the Lord, is imminent and is the blessed hope of the church.  (I Thess. 4:16;  Rm. 6:23; Titus 2:13;  I Cor. 15:51, 52.)

13.    The Return Of Jesus

The revelation of the Lord Jesus Christ from heaven is a Scriptural promise and our hope.  (II Thess. 1:7; Rev. 19:11-16;  Rm. 11:25;  Rev. 20:1-7.)

14.    The Lake Of Fire

The devil and His angels, the beast and the false prophet, and whosoever is not found written in the Lamb's Book of Life, shall be consigned to everlasting punishment in the lake which burns fire and brimstone, which is the second death.  (Rev. 19:20; 20:10-15.)

15.    The New Heavens And New Earth

We, as promised in the Scriptures, look for a new heavens and a new earth wherein dwells righteousness.  (II Peter 3:13;  Rev. 21:1.)

16.    The Gift Of Tongues

The gift of tongues is a spiritual gift given to some believers when they are baptized in the Holy Spirit.  (I Cor. 12:10; 12:28-30.)  The primary use of the gift of tongues is for the edification of the church.  (Acts 2:2-4; 19-6.)   Tongues (prayer language) are given to the believer for personal edification.  (I Corinthians 14:2)

17.    The Gift Of Life

We believe that the Heavenly Father, who knit us in our mothers' wombs, and knew us before we were born, calls us to respect all human life from natural beginning (the moment of conception) until natural end.  (Jer. 1:5; Ps. 139:13-16.)

Ordinances

Water Baptism

The ordinance of water baptism (Matt. 28:19) shall be administered by all established places of worship to all those who have repented of their sins and who believe on the Lord Jesus Christ to the saving of their souls.  (Rm. 6:3-5).

The Lord's Supper

The ordinance of the Lord's Supper shall be observed regularly by all established places of worship, as enjoined in the Scriptures.  (Luke 22:19,20).
