Could you share an anecdote from your childhood?
I remember having a very happy childhood.
I am number five in a family of ten with eight girls and two boys.
Dad and Mom made it so much fun being part of a big family that I always wanted one myself.
I remember Dad saying that the way to love him was to love his family, and now I know what he means.
We went on camping trips, canoeing and horseback riding, all sorts of inexpensive fun.
My sisters and I would walk to our neighborhood schoolyard and play softball with whomever showed up.
We could walk to our downtown area for swim lessons at the YMCA and go to the library on the way home.
Do you have any favorite memories from when you and your family built your house?
I have so many sweet memories of the whole process, I could go on forever.
All of the inside jokes with our friends who worked with us and the daily excitement of finally building was incredible.
Each day seemed to be filled with another miracle as we faced each decision.
I almost miss all the drywall dust I seemed to be sweeping all the time.
That last night preparing the dining room and the family room for painting was really special even though it was a little crazy that night.
At least we knew we were down to the end of that phase and getting closer to moving in.
Do you have any humorous anecdotes in parenting you can share?
I could go on and on about this and bore everyone silly.
I'm sure every parent could. Philip as a two-year-old yelling out "I'M NOT CRABBY" probably ranks pretty high.
